Discussion of Paradise Valley Bicycle + Pedestrian Master Plan (the "Master Plan")

Background

The Planning Commission discussed the Master Plan at its July 25, 2017 work study meeting. Refer to the attached minutes from that meeting for items discussed.

At the request of the Planning Commission, in an effort for the Planning Commission to adequately discuss and understand the components of the draft Master Plan, Planning Commission work study session meetings will be structured to afford uninterrupted time for Planning Commission discussion. Public input may be taken at the August 15, 2017 work study meeting. Near the beginning of the September 9, 2017 work study meeting on this item there will be 30 minutes for public input. Future meetings will also include time set aside for public input. This includes a meeting planned primarily for public input tentatively set for October 17, 2017. The public is always welcome to attend any of these meetings either in person or watch the video online.

There are four primary objectives for the August 15, 2017 work session meeting. No action will be taken. A detailed presentation will be presented at the meeting. These objectives are as follows:

* Lieutenant Freeman Carney will review the enforcement measures the Town has implemented to address safety for both motorists and persons using non-motorized transportation as a means to update the Planning Commissioners.

* The Planning Commission will continue the review of the pedestrian and bicycle route maps, with the goal of identifying a draft revised pedestrian route map and a draft revised bicycle route map by the end of the meeting for review at the September 5, 2017 work study meeting. To aid...
