Council Goals or Statutory Requirements:

RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

Adopt Ordinance Number 2018-11 allowing for a technical correction to Article 6-2 of the Town Code, by showing in the strikeout format the text that was intended to be deleted in Section 6-2-3(C) of the Town Code.

Background

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Ordinance 2018-02 was adopted by the Council on March 22, 2018 making changes to the procedure for the preparation and filing of plats/maps.  Article 6-3, §6-2-3(C) was meant to be shown as a strikeout as this section was no longer needed after new text was inserted in §6-2-3(A).  However, because of an oversight, §6-2-3(C) was left out of the Ordinance changes altogether instead of being shown as a strikeout, which meant that it stayed in the Town Code.  Because subsection (C) is redundant and unnecessary, it should be struck for the Town Code.  Ordinance 2018-11 now provides for striking §6-2-3(C) and cleaning up the Final Plat section of the Town Code.  It is respectfully suggested that the Council adopt Ordinance No. 2018-11.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

None.
