RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation

Adopt Ordinance Number 693 amending the Construction Noise Ordinance

Background

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Paradise Valley ordinances regulate certain construction related activities that are noise producing through its ordinances.  One of those regulations is the prohibition of certain construction equipment and delivery of materials on weekends and holidays.  However, due to the seasonal nature of our economic peak, there are times where more robust construction schedules are needed to meet deadlines.  Therefore, the Town receives requests to waive or modify these restrictions on a case by case basis.  This amendment enables the Town Manager to grant waivers to day and time restrictions.  While it is not contained in this ordinance amendment, it would be the Town Manager’s intent to not allow these noise producing activities prior to 7 a.m. on Saturday and prior to 8 a.m. on Sunday if permitted at all.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

None
