Background

Dunn Transportation has been providing a service for several years to the Town of Paradise Valley and its resorts.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

This service has historically connected the resorts and connected the resort guests to shopping and dining experiences in downtown Scottsdale.  It has further provided connections to entertainment opportunities such as Spring Training and gambling.  This year we are introducing recreational opportunities to this service by making a stop at either end of the Camelback Mountain hike--an iconic recreational activity accessed through Paradise Valley.  Not only does this expand services to our resort guests, but it can alleviate on-street parking issues in PV neighborhoods.  This offers parking in the Fashion Square parking lot and drop off and pick-up services near the trailheads.  It is intended to address local hikers when the Echo Canyon parking becomes full during peak season.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The cost of this service is split between the Town and the participating resorts.  The Town’s portion is $25,200.  This is paid for with bed tax derived from the resorts.
