Adopt Ordinance Number 2018-20.
Background
The Town Council met and discussed a draft of Ordinance No. 2018-20 on October 25th meeting. At that time, the Council suggested edits to the Ordinance and asked staff to provide a sample timeline schedule. The suggested edits have been made to Ordinance No. 2018-20 and a sample 2019 schedule for a major amendment application is attached. One additional change made by the Town staff since the October 25, 2018 study session was to change the annual deadline for filing a major amendment request from the second Thursday in April to the fourth Thursday of May of each year. This suggestion was made by the Community Development Director after having prepared the 2019 sample schedule.
As a quick review, the Arizona Revised Statutes, in ?9-461.05(A), requires municipalities to include provisions in their adopted general plans that identify changes or modifications to the plan that constitute amendments and major amendments to the general plan.
