Authorize the Town Manager to execute a contract with Econolite Group, Inc. in the amount of $171,261.53.
Background

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
This project includes the replacement of the Town's existing video detection cameras at its signalized intersections townwide. The current cameras were installed in 2008 and have exceeded their useful life by two years. The existing cameras continue to fail on a weekly basis and require significant man hours to troubleshoot and reset.

The replacement cameras staff is recommending have a useful life of 10 years and have a 3 year warranty. In addition to their capability to detect vehicles for signal timing, the cameras have the ability to collect and store 24/7 vehicle and bicycle counts by vehicle classification, providing more accurate traffic counts for future signal timing.

This project is included in the FY2017-18 Capital Improvement Plan Budget. As such, a Notice to Proceed will not be executed for this project until after July 1st, 2017. The project is anticipated to take 8-10 weeks to complete.

Staff is delivering this project via a Job Order Contract (JOC), an alternative construction delivery method as defined by A.R.S. Title 34 Chapter 6. The Town will be utilizing an existing Maricopa County contract with Econolite Group, Inc. which includes a Cooperati...
