Authorize the Town Manager to execute up to three one-year extensions of the Robert Hubbard Agreement for prosecution services.
Background
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On October 1, 2015 the Town and Robert Hubbard entered into the Agreement, which had an original term that expired on June 30, 2017 but provided for three additional one-year extensions of the Agreement. Mr. Hubbard has provided exemplary services for the past twenty-one months and is willing to extend the Agreement on the same terms. If the Council so approves, the Town Manager would be authorized to extend the agreement for each of the three one-year extensions, which would be done year-by-year by a letter agreement prior to the end of each term. All other provisions of the Agreement remain the same. Thus, Robert Hubbard will continue at the contract rates specified in the original agreement, that is, a fixed rate of $3,000.00 per month for basic prosecution services with provision for additional services if needed, but with the maximum annual contract not exceed $44,000.00 per year.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The contract services are part of the Town Attorney’s outside counsel budget and are well within the amounts budgeted for these services in the FY2017-18 budget request.
