Background

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Previously, the terms of office for the Board of Adjustment and the Hillside Building Committee expired in October.  Following the switch to fall elections for Town Council, Ordinance Number 2016-05 was adopted extending the terms of most committee, commission, and board members to April.

There are seven members of the Board of Adjustment who serve staggered three-year terms.  The terms for Jon Newman, Hope Ozer, and Robert Nagle expire this year.  Mr. Newman and Ms. Ozer have requested to be reappointed.  Mr. Nagel asked not to be   reappointed.

There are two citizen members of the Hillside Building Committee who serve staggered two-year terms.  Scott McPherson’s term expires this year and he declined reappointment.

The Town invited residents to submit applications to volunteer for various committee vacancies in January.  Six people applied to serve on the Board of Adjustment and seven people applied for the Hillside Committee.   Their application materials are attached for your consideration.  The chairs from both public bodies will be present for the interviews to provide their perspective.
