Consideration of a continuance of a Major General Plan Amendment located at the northwest corner of Northern Ave alignment/Scottsdale Rd GP-16-01 (a.k.a. Jarvis Property, Town Triangle, Villas at Cheney)

RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Continue the General Plan amendment application GP-16-01 from no later than April 13, 2017 as stipulated at the Council meeting of December 15, 2016 to a date no later than May 25, 2017. All other stipulations remain in full force and effect.
Background
BACKGROUND
The applicant requests this continuance in an effort to continue to work on alternatives. Also, the requested continuance is in response to the circumstance that meeting notification procedures occur generally two months prior to the Town Council date to accommodate Planning Commission meetings and advertisement deadlines.
State Statute
Pursuant to State Statute, a major amendment application to a General Plan must be presented at a public hearing to the Town Council within the same calendar year it was filed. The subject application was duly filed in May 2016. This was completed when the Town Council continued this application to a date no later than April 13, 2017.
