Work Study Session - Special Use Permit Major Amendment

Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley

7000 E Lincoln Drive (SUP-15-01)





On May 4, 2015, Five Star Development Resort Communities applied for a major amendment to the Ritz-Carlton SUP.  The amendment to the SUP includes a mix of resort, residential, and retail uses on the site. 



The purpose of this study session is to continue the review of the proposed stipulations and the revised Special Use Permit booklet submitted by the applicant.  



A recommended schedule for reviewing this project is referenced in the Statement of Direction (SOD).  It gives the Planning Commission 120 days from Council approval of the SOD (October 9, 2015) to complete their review and forward a recommendation to the Town Council.  Although it is past the 120 days in the Statement of Direction, the Planning Commission required further study of this application. A Special Meeting of the Planning Commission was set to discuss this project for October 19, 2015. The primary purpose of the Special Meeting is to review stipulations, but discussion may include other aspects of the application submittal. 



Public comment was taken during the public hearing on October 6, 2015. The Planning Commission took action on October 6, 2015 to continue the public hearing for this application on October 20, 2015.
