Title
Presentation to the Town Council by the Police Department Volunteers
Body
Council Goals
Improve Public Safety Services including prevention, enforcement, communication and community/victim outreach.
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
During 2015, the volunteers at the Paradise Valley Police Department set a record for the number of hours worked collectively. These Volunteers, under the leadership of Bill Harrington and Larry Fink and under the supervision of Kevin Albert, worked 4395 hours. A full time employee works 2080 hours per year. So, the volunteers donated the equivalent of two full time employees to the Police Department.
The Federal Government suggested rate per volunteer hour worked is $23.07. As a result, the volunteers donated the net value of $101,392 to the Town of Paradise Valley during 2015. (<http://independentsector.org/volunteer_time>)
Chairman Harrington and Vice Chairman Fink will present Mayor Collins a check representing the value of the volunteer time that the volunteers worked.
