Adopt Resolution No. 2018-24; authorizing the Town to acquire property interests needed for the Lincoln Drive Sidewalk Expansion Project.
Background
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Town staff has been working for several months with the Arizona Department of Transportation and a right-of-way acquisition agent ("Agent") to obtain easements for the Lincoln Drive Sidewalk Expansion Project ("Project"). All of the property owners along Lincoln Drive where the Town needs to acquire sidewalk easements or temporary construction easements have been contacted and advised of the property interests that the Town needs to acquire and advised of the appraised value of the interests the Town's needs. Negotiations with the property owners has now commenced, however, adoption of Resolution No. 2018-24 is needed in order to allow the Town to finalize contracts with the property owners and then close escrow for each property interest acquisition.
