Background
PURPOSE:
Robert Lee, CBO, Town’s Building Official, Fire Marshall, and Building Safety Manager is today being recognized by AZBO as Building Official of the Year. Bob has worked at the Town of Paradise Valley for over 10 years, and prior to that worked in the municipalities of Cave Creek, Prescott, and Flagstaff for a combined twenty (20) years. Outside of Arizona, Bob has worked in construction in upstate New York, Denver, Eastern Washington, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines.
Bob’s other notable accomplishments include earning a degree in Environmental Design from the University of Washington, Seattle and serving in two tours of duty in Vietnam (1965 & 1968) as a helicopter pilot. More recently Bob chaired the Maricopa Association of Governments’ Building Code Committee for three years, was President of the local International Code Committee Chapter for four years, and was the only person to be Chairman of AZBO twice.
Don Brown, current Chairman of AZBO, will present the AZBO Building Official of the Year award to Bob Lee.
