Approval of Special Event Liquor License for Benchmark PTO
Body
Council Goals or Other Policies / Statutory Requirements:
A.R.S. §4-203.02
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation
Approve a Special Event Liquor License for Benchmark PTO for a fundraising event on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at a private residence, subject to the following stipulations: only those people authorized by law be allowed to dispense and/or consume alcoholic beverages; consumption shall be limited to the premises as indicated in the application; alcohol may not be raffled (auction/silent auction is permitted); and Section 10-7 Control of Excess Noise be observed.
Background
SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Benchmark PTO (charitable organization that supports Benchmark Preschool and Elementary School) will hold a fundraising event at a private residence located at 5022 E Cottontail Run Rd on September 24, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Alcohol will be served at the event, thus a special event liquor license is required.
State law requires the Town to approve special event liquor licenses before the State Liquor Board can issue a license. The Police Department and Community Development Department have reviewed the application and find no reason to oppose it as long as the stipulations listed above are observed.
