Background

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
In April 2014, the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) booking installation was completed. In May 2014, the officers were trained and the AFIS began to be used regularly to submit fingerprints of arrestees to the AZ DPS via the connection with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO).

The use of the AFIS is governed by an IGA between the Maricopa County, the MCSO, and the Town of Paradise Valley. Although the system has been implemented for over two years, no agreement was signed at the time the system was implemented.

There is no cost to signing the agreement and the agreement continues perpetually, unless either party terminates. Termination would give a thirty (30) day notice to the other entities.

After signing of this agreement, PVPD shall:
1. Agrees and recognizes the use of information received is solely to establish the identity of individuals using AZAFIS technology.
