Council Goals or Statutory Requirements:
The Town Council adopted a policy governing the recognition of individuals, groups, and organizations on October 12, 2017. The Historical Advisory Committee received its first application requesting recognition of long-time residents and world-renowned artists Robert and Louise McCall.

Recommendation
Approve the recommendation of the Historical Advisory Committee to recognize Robert and Louise McCall
Background

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Historical Advisory Committee met on October 13, 2017 to consider an application submitted by the Arts Advisory Committee honoring the McCalls and make a recommendation based on the newly adopted criteria.

The Historical Advisory Committee agreed that the McCall's have met the criteria of contributing a tangible benefit to the Town. Robert McCall designed the stained-glass windows at Valley Presbyterian Church on McDonald Drive and also designed the stained-glass windows at the interfaith chapels at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport and the Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center in Scottsdale. Louise volunteered as a member of the Arts Advisory Committee for 16 years.
